From Riyadh to Rotterdam, Samsung Paints Picture of Pandemonium

In Samsung's universe, it's a Galaxy-crazed world out there.

And for the launch of Samsung Electronics’s latest smartphone, the Galaxy S5, the company painted a picture of pandemonium, with opening-day mayhem and long queues from Riyadh to Rotterdam.
While Samsung didn’t actually divulge any concrete numbers on first-day sales for the S5, which hit stores in 125 countries last Friday, the company’s press release Sunday reported opening-day sales in some places that were double those for Galaxy S4 one year earlier.
In the U.S., the company said that first-day sales for the Galaxy S5, which features a fingerprint sensor, an improved camera and a water- and dust-resistant shell, were 30% better than for the S4 last year.
